Adventure at Applebee’s

Putting it to the test…

This week when the boys came to visit their mom, they got to try a new restaurant. Mimi and Mom took Rocko and Marty to try Applebee’s. Mom ordered everything online and we chose the curbside pickup option. The nice woman that brough us our food adored Marty’s sweet face and Rocko’s fluffy hair!

The Review

The boys decided for this review to try all of their appetizers and save the entrées for a different day. The best way to try every appetizer was to order the classic combo which comes with the mozzarella sticks, boneless wings with celery, quesadilla, and chips with salsa. First up the boys decided to try the mozzarella sticks. Both boys gave these a 9/10 because they absolutely adore cheese. The cheese pull was amazing, and the outside was crunchy and savory. Next up the boys tried the boneless wings in the honey barbeque flavor because they cannot handle spice. Marty gave these a 10/10 while Rocko gave them an 8/10. Both boys really enjoyed the sweet yet tangy flavor, but the texture of the chicken was a little tough for Rocko to eat. The wings also came with celery which both Marty and Rocko gave a 1/10. They think that all celery tastes like grass and should not be eaten by any species. After the horrible experience with the celery, the boys tried the quesadilla. Marty and Rocko both gave the quesadilla a 7/10. They were not aware that it has tomatoes in it which they are not a fan of, but otherwise the flavor was pretty good. Finally, the boys finished their review with the chips and salsa. On their own, the chips are a 6/10 because they are good but there is nothing special about them. The chips dipped in the salsa get a 3/10 due to the fact that neither one of the boys like tomatoes or spice.

Overall, both boys concluded that the appetizers from Applebee’s deserve a 7/10. The boneless wings and mozzarella sticks were definitely the highlight of their meal. The other appetizers weren’t horrible, except for the celery, but they could definitely use some improvement.
